ABOUT:

Julie Ziah is a local 800 Production Designer based in Los Angeles. She has spent her career building the worlds of gritty indies, streaming dramas, and high-octane network procedurals. To Julie, a great set shouldn't just look good on camera, it should feel like a real location that exists beyond the frame.

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with degrees in Fine Arts and Communication Arts, Julie began her career art directing the feature “Baraboo” and continued on to art direct projects like “Queen of the South”, “Why Women Kill”, and the film “Maggie” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

That hands-on experience led her to Production Designing, where she recently wrapped two seasons of “S.W.A.T.” for CBS along with the spin-off series “S.W.A.T. Exiles” starring Shamar Moore. Her design work also includes three seasons of the atmospheric legal drama “Goliath” on Amazon starring Billy Bob Thornton, and the Emmy winning Apple TV+ series “Life By Ella.”

Whether she’s designing high-intensity action environments or gritty character-driven spaces, Julie’s approach is always about authenticity and collaboration. She enjoys the challenge of jumping between genres and is focused on making every set feel like a world that truly exists.
